Amanda Freitag

 Amanda Freitag (born May 11, 1972) is an American celebrity chef and cookbook author. Her appearances on Food Network and her participation as a judge for television cooking contests make her famous. Freitag is based in New York City. She graduated in 1989 and then took on a job with Vong New York under Jean-Georges Vongerichten. In 1994, she resigned from Vong to work at Verbena under chef Diane Forley. Freitag said that she felt important at Verbena where she established important relationships and learned how to use local organic ingredients. Following her time at Verbena, Freitag traveled to France and Italy and Italy, where she worked for a short while at L'Arpege Restaurant under chef Alain Passard in 1999. In 2003, Freitag and restaurateur Godfrey Polistina opened the Upper West Side restaurant Cesca Enoteca & Trattoria. Seven years ago, Freitag was chef of cuisine at Cesca before he became an executive chef at The Harrison. [8][9The Harrison is a restaurant that was founded by Cesca. The New York Times reported on September 3, 2010, that Freitag had left The Harrison. Jimmy Bradley, the restaurant's founderand founder, is returning as the chef. From January 2014 to July 2015, Freitag took over as executive chef at the Empire Diner in Manhattan, New York. Freitag and Kevin Lillis, of the Hospitality Alliance, opened the Dallas bistro Rise & Thyme, Texas in September of 2020.
