Amanda Tapping

 Tapping continued to pursue her studies in the theatre arts while performing in several stage productions. Tapping appeared in a number of television commercials. She also appeared in a variety roles in TV and film productions such as The Outer Limits or The X-Files. She also formed an ensemble of comedians, known as the "Random Acts" together with co-stars Katherine Jackson and Anne Marie Kerr, in Toronto in the early 1990s.Tapping is best known for her performance as Samantha Carter in the science fictional television show Stargate SG-1, which debuted in 1997. Following the time that SG-1 ended its run, Tapping reprised the role as Samantha Carter on Stargate Atlantis as the new leader of the Atlantis expedition. In season 5,, Tapping's role on the show was relegated to the status of "special guest-star" with brief appearances[4] as she decided to concentrate her efforts on the creation of a brand new series for Syfy named Sanctuary. The first webisodes of the series which were launched online in 2007 was expanded into the current version of the show. The bulk of the scenery and characters were all green screen and CGI creations. Tapping was the director and star of the show.In 2007, she received a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Actress for her role in the short film Breakdown.On 18 September 2012, she was cast as an angel known as Naomi on season 8 of the TV series Supernatural. She was featured in seven episodes as a regular character. [6] She reprised the role in season 13's "Funeralia", nearly five years after her character's apparent death She was also named as ACTRA's Woman of the Year in 2015.
