Walter Bruce Willis, born on March 19, 1955 was an American actor. He is most well-known for his performance as the lead in the comedy-drama Moonlighting (1985-1989) as well as was in over 100 films. The character he played, John McClane (1988-2013) in Die Hard and other roles made him an action hero. Some of his other roles include The Last Boy Scout (1991), The Death He Takes His Place (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), 12 Monkeys (955), The Fifth Element (1997), Armageddon (191998), The Sixth Sense (99), Unbreakable (2000) and Sin City (2005). Moonrise Kingdom (2012) was Looper (2012). Willis was in a variety of direct-to-video, low-budget films that were not very well received in his final years. Willis's family announced his retirement in the month of March 2022, after being diagnosed with Aphasia. This condition impairs his ability to comprehend language. Willis released his first album, The Return of Bruno in 1987. Then, he released three albums in the years 1989, 2001, and 2001. In 2015 Willis made his Broadway debut in the stage version of Misery. He has been awarded numerous times throughout his career, including an Golden Globe Award and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2006, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Films featuring Willis have grossed between US$2.64 billion and $3.05 billion at North American box offices, making him in 2010 the eighth-highest-grossing actor in a leading role.
