Chancelor Johnathan Bennett (born on 16th April 1993) also known professionally as Chance the Rapper is a popular American artist, rapper and record producer. Bennett was born and was raised in Chicago. He dropped his first mixtape 10 Day, in 2012. After releasing Acid Rap, his second mixtape in 2013, Bennett began to get the attention of the mainstream media. After that, he made his third mixtape available, Coloring Book in 2016 and it received more critical acclaim and attention. The album earned him three Grammy Awards, including the award for Best Rap Album; upon receiving the award the award, it became the very first album that was exclusively streaming to receive the Grammy Award, and peaked at the top of the Billboard 200. In the year 2019 his first album as a studio, The Big Day, was released. Alongside his solo career, Bennett is also a part of the Chicago collective Savemoney and is the vocalist of The Social Experiment. They released Surf in 2015, which was led by Nico Segal, the trumpeter. [7] Bennett is active in the social movement in Chicago and the city where he resides.
