Evander Holyfield

 Evander Holyfield (born October 19 1962) is an American former professional boxer who was a champion between 1984 and 2011. He was the undisputed cruiserweight champion during the late 1980s and at heavyweight in the beginning of the 1990s. He remains the only boxer who has won the undisputed title at two weight classes during the era of three belts. He is often referred to as "the Real Deal", Holyfield is the only world heavyweight champion, having held the unified WBA, WBC, and IBF titles from 1990 to 1992. He then held the WBA and IBF titles in 1993 until 1994, the WBA title for the third time from 1996 to 1999; the IBF title a third time from 1997 to 1999 and then the WBA title for a fourth time from 2000 until 2001.As an amateur, Holyfield represented the United States in the 1984 Summer Olympics where he won an Olympic bronze medal in the heavyweight division for light. At the age of 21 He began professional fighting and was promoted into the cruiserweight division in. He beat Dwight Muhammad Qawi to win the WBA title. Holyfield went on to defeat Ricky Parkey, Carlos de Leon and became the undisputed cruiserweight champion. In 1988, he made the move to heavyweight, and then defeated Buster Douglas to win the WBC, WBC, and IBF heavyweight titles. He then lost his first professional defeat to Riddick Bowle in 1992. Holyfield won the title back in a rematch with Bowe the following year. Bowe had previously lost the WBC title. The titles were reclaimed by Holyfield in 1994 in an upset against Michael Moorer. Holyfield had to retire from the sport due to medical concerns in 1994, but he returned a year later in good health. He defeated Mike Tyson in 1996 and reclaimed the WBA title. This fight was named by The Ring magazine the Fight of the year and the upset of the year. This resulted in Holyfield the first fighter since Muhammad Ali to win a world heavyweight title three times. Holyfield won a 1997 rematch against Tyson who saw the latter disqualified in round three for biting off a portion of Holyfield's ear. He also won a second match against Michael Moorer, and was given the IBF title. In 1999, Holyfield took on Lennox Lewis in an unification fight for the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles. The fight ended with an unpopular draw. A year later, Holyfield lost to John Ruiz in an rematch. He defeated John Ruiz the following year for the vacant WBA title. He became the first boxer to win the heavyweight title four times. Seven months later, Holyfield lost to Ruiz in another rematch. He was matched against Ruiz again, this time for the third time in draw. Holyfield has retired in 2014 and is currently ranked at number 77 on The Ring’s 100 greatest punchers list[3] and named the 22nd most powerful fighter over the last 80 years. His current rank is placed No.91 on the list of BoxRec's the best pound-for pound boxers of all time. BoxingScene has ranked him as the best cruiserweight of all time. In addition, he holds the world title in three decades, the 1980s, 1990s and the 2000s.
