The third season began in October of 2012. In October 2012, the Hoffman crew returned to Klondike to mine Quartz Creek once more. They also hired more crew members to work at a different location in the area. Hoffman's issues with equipment and delay at the site resulted in the decision to join Dave Turin's Indian River team. Parker Schnabel returned with more efficient equipment and a larger capacity to the Big Nugget Mine site, while "Dakota Fred Hurt" and his team returned to Porcupine Creek to mine 803 pounds. The result was $1.28million. Parker as well as Dakota Fred each extracted 191 and 163 ounces gold that can be worth more than one quarter million dollars. It was an incredible achievement compared to the previous season, where only 50 ounces of gold were found.
