James Cameron

James's business acumen helped him to earn substantial financial gains over the time of his professional career. As we will discuss later in this article, James famously gave up his $8 million salary after Titanic went over-budget. Instead, he opted to take back-end point. Cameron was successful in cashing those points and the film made $650 million. Due to the same profit-sharing deal, James has earned at minimum $350 million from the Avatar franchise up to date.In 1973, Cameron enrolled at Fullerton College which is which is a community college located in the northern part of Orange County, but ultimately was dismissed after just a year. After graduation, he took on odd jobs such as truck driver or the janitor. Writing has always been one of his hobbies and after watching Star Wars in 1977, the writer quit his job and intentions of entering the film industry. In 1978, he directed, produced, and produced his first short film Xenogenesis, with a friend. He went on to become an assistant to the production team for Rock and Roll High School (1979) and later the art director for the science fiction film Battle Beyond the Stars (1980). He did special effects for John Carpenter's Escape from New York (1981) and was the production designer for Galaxy of Terror (1981), and consulted on the concept for Android (1982
