Joe Walsh

Joseph Fidler Walsh, born on the 20th of November, 1947 was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. In a career spanning over five decades, he's been a member of three rock groups that were successful: the James Gang, Eagles, and Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. He was also a member of the New Zealand band Herbs. He was also a part of Herbs from New Zealand in the 1990s. He was ranked as No. 54 on the list of Rolling Stone in 2011. 54 position on its list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".In the mid-1960s after studying at Kent State University, Walsh was a member of several Ohio-based local bands before reaching a national audience as an artist in the James Gang, whose hit song "Funk #49" demonstrated his skills as both a guitarist and singer. Roger Abramson, a concert producer and artist manager, signed the James Gang to the management contract with BPI in Cleveland. He founded Barnstorm in 1972, along with Joe Vitale (a college friend from Ohio) and Kenny Passarelli (a bassist from Colorado) which was the place where Walsh moved to after leaving Ohio. While the group remained together for three albums over three years, the albums were promoted as Walsh solo projects. The 1974 Barnstorm album So What was a major album that featured guest appearances by a number of Eagles members, who had recently hired Walsh's producer Bill Szymczyk.
