Mary-Louise Parker

 Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2nd 1964. The actress is an American actress. After making her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas' Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she was awarded an Tony Award nomination), Parker came to prominence with film performances in Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996), and The Maker (1997). In addition to her stage and independent film appearances later on, Parker received the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actress in the same Play for her portrayal as Catherine Llewellyn in David Auburn's Proof in addition to other awards. In 2001 through 2006, she appeared in the role of Amy Gardner in the NBC television show The West Wing, for which she was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an Drama Series in 2002. She was awarded a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance of Harper Pitt in the acclaimed HBO television miniseries Angels in America in 2003.Parker continued to have huge successes as Nancy Botwin, the lead character in the television series Weeds that was on from 2005 until 2012 and for which she was nominated for three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in the field of Comedy Series between 2007 and 2009. She also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2006.Her later film appearances include roles in The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), Red (2010), R.I.P.D. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). In the year 2019, Parker was back on Broadway to reprise her Li'l Bit role in The Sound Inside. This production won her her second Tony Award for Best Actress. Parker received her sixth Tony nomination for her role of Li'l Bit in How I Learned to Drive 2022. Since 2007, Parker has contributed to Esquire magazine, and also published her memoir Dear Mr. You, in 2015. In 2017, she appeared in the role of Roma Guy on the ABC miniseries on television called When We Rise.
