Sean Connery

 Sir Sean Connery (born Thomas Connery; 25 August 1930 30 October 1930 - 31 October 2020) was an actor from Scotland. Scottish actor. Connery was the first actor to play fictional British spy James Bond on film. Connery appeared in seven Bond films, from 1962 until 1983. In the beginning, he played the character in Dr. No, Connery played Bond in six of Eon Productions' entries and appeared in his final film Never Say Never Again. After his third appearance as Bond in Goldfinger (1964) In June 1965, Time magazine observed "James Bond has grown into the most famous mass-cult hero of the decade".Connery began acting in smaller stage and TV productions prior to his first big part in the film as Bond. Though he was not a fan of the off-screen attention the role earned him, the success of Bond's Bond films brought Connery offers from prominent directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Sidney Lumet and John Huston. Connery was featured in Marnie (1964), The Hill (65), Murder on the Orient Express (744) and The Man Who Would be King (1975). He was also in A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), The Name of the Rose (1986), The Untouchables (1987), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery quit acting in the year. However, Connery did briefly return to voice-overs in 2012. In 1987, he was made an Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in France as well as receiving the US Kennedy Center Honors lifetime achievement award in 1999.
