Melanie Thandiwe Newton OBE (/’taendi?weI/TAN-dee–way born on 6/11/722) is an actress from the UK. British actress. Newton has won numerous awards, such as the British Academy Film Award, an award from the Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe nominations. In the year 2019, she was made the Officer of the Order of the British Empire. The actress was also nominated for the British Academy Television Award as Best Actress for her performance as DCI Roz Huntley on the BBC drama series Line of Duty in 2017.
