Usher Raymond IV (born October 14th, 1978) is an American R&B artist. Born in Dallas, Texas, he was raised in Chattanooga (Tennessee) before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. The mother of his son encouraged him to sing in local competitions at the age of 12 before being discovered by LaFace Records' music A&R. The album he self-titled Usher was released in 1994. He gained fame after the release of My Way (1997), which was his second album. The album was the first to bring him the first U.S. This was the beginning of his debut U.S. single, "Nice & Slow" that became Billboard's most-popular single. The top two singles of the album were "You Make Me Wanna " and "My Way". The album he released in his third studio album,"8701" (2001) included the number-one singles "U Remind Me" and "U Got It Bad", as well as the number-three hit single "U Don't Need to Call". It was sold to eight million people worldwide and won the first two Grammy Awards as Best Male R&B Vocal Performance in 2002 and 2003.Confessions (2004) established him as one of the bestselling music artists of the 2000s decade and featured four consecutive Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles--"Yeah!" (featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris), "Burn", "Confessions Part II" as well as "My Boo" (with Keys with Alicia Keys)--and the top ten hit single "Caught Up". The album sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and was certified as a Diamond by the RIAA. 7] Following his split with his manager and mother in 2007, he dropped the albums Here I Stand (2008) and Raymond v. Raymond (2010), each of which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and respectively released the top-ranked singles "Love in This Club" (featuring Young Jeezy) and "OMG" (featuring will.i.am). Prior to the release of "More", Versus' number-five hit single "DJ Got Us falling' in Love" (featuring Pitbull), the EP Versus also produced the number-five single "DJ Got Us Feelin' in LOVE" (featuring Pitbull). The Billboard 200 chart debuted Looking at Myself (2012) featuring the top-ten hit single "Scream". The R&B ballads "There Goes My Baby" and "Climax" have been awarded Grammy Awards in 2011 and 2013. "I Don't Mind", featuring Juicy J, reached the top fifteen on the Billboard 200 chart in 2014. Hard II Love (2016) also peaked at five. The singer released A in 2018 A, a collaborative album with Zaytoven the year 2018.
