Tomoya Okazaki

 Tomoya Okazaki is the principal protagonist in the Clannad visual novel. He is a student at Hikarizaka high school and is classified as an undergraduate. But, he's not known to be a fighter. When he was a child his mother Atsuko passed away in a car accident. Tomoya has lived with his father Naoyuki and has been since. They have a lot of fights and Tomoya has lost his desire to play professional basketball after he injured his shoulder during an altercation with Naoyuki. He was a friend from childhood to Kotomi Ishinose, and is best buddies with Moonohara, Youhei. After graduating from high school, Tomoya is introduced to Nagisa furukawa in the first scene of the story's visual. He is a great friend , and later a wife/girlfriend. He gets married to Nagisa and has a daughter named Ushio. Nagisa is ill during pregnancy, and Tomoya takes care of her. But she passes away soon after the birth. Tomoya is depressed and offers Ushio to Akio, Sanae. Tomoya quickly realizes that he has put Ushio through the exact same situation as his father and is an improved father. Tomoya finds out that Ushio is the girl from the Illusionary World is dead. The use of light orbs to turn back the clock, bringing back the clock back to the day that Nagisa is still laboring. This stops Ushio and Ushio's death. Tomoya is able to live with his daughter and wife as an uninvolved family.
