Her great grandparents came from Italy to the United States via Ellis Island. As a child she emigrated her family and friends from Italy to Mandeville in Louisiana. She enrolled in the Tchefuncte Middle School talent and drama program at the age of five. When Scagliotti was eleven, she worked with an acting instructor who encouraged her to audition for pilot season in Los Angeles. She was offered a pilot on a sitcom with Chevy Chase, which she booked in New York. Scagliotti was able to make Los Angeles her home to pursue a career as an actor. Scagliotti was a film student at New York University, though she didn't complete her degree. She later earned a bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music's Online Program. She is the first cousin to Kevin Pfeffer (lead singer of Five Minutes to Freedom) and Alex Scagliotti (National Wakeboard Champion).
