Freeman has appeared in a variety of short films, feature films, and TV series. She was the main character in YellowBrickRoad, a film about a thriller written and directed by Andy Mitton & Jesse Holland. 5 Freeman was the character Veronica Sharpe, in Razor Sharp's short film that was awarded. In the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival 2007, the film was awarded "Best Action Film". Freeman began her role as a starring actress in the CW's Superman-inspired show Smallville in September of 2008. The show premiered following Michael Rosenbaum's resignation. Freeman continued in this role until May of 2011. Freeman has also appeared in three episodes of CBS the crime-drama CSI. She was in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation season 10, episode 4, titled "Coup of Grace" in October 2009. She was in CSI: NY episode 8: "Indelible" in September 2011. She was in CSI: Miami season 10 episode 15 in March 2012. The episode was titled "No Good Deed". Freeman was confirmed by The CW to appear as Sage in The Vampire Diaries' third season on January 13th in 2012. 7 Freeman played the A&E crime drama Longmire's Cady Longmire from 2012 until the year 2017. She was also the character Eva Azarova, a Russian spy in NCIS: New Orleans. She was also a part of a crossover episode of NCIS: New Orleans. Will Patton starred with her in The Purge 5 movie The Forever Purge. The film came out in 2021.
