DJ Envy

 A native from Queens, New York City, DJ Envy, then known as DJ Shrimp, was tutored and mentored by a local acquaintance DJ Clue,[4] who introduced him to the mixtape scene in the late 1990s. DJ Clue took him under his wing to assist in his success as disc jockey. In the early 2000s the DJ was hosting exclusives and commercials for established artists which comprised Hahflamez, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and The Lox. He was then signed to DJ Clue's recording label Desert Storm. He released his first album as a studio artist, The Desert Storm Mixtape, Blok Party, Vol., in 2003. 1.DJ Envy's first big break on the radio was when he mixed once a month on Hot 97's "Takin' it to The Streets" show. This show was hosted by Angie Martinez, from 12:00 until 4:00 am. Martinez later took over after Martinez was pregnant. In addition, he co-hosted the morning show of Hot 97 with Miss Jones from 6 am-10 the hour every day. His run on the morning show came to an end in July of 2008 after Miss Jones moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hot 97's DJ Envy hosted his own mix shows titled "The People's Mix" Saturdays at 12:00pm to 22:00 pm as well as "The People's Choice Hit List Sundays from 5:00 pm until 8pm. There was a segment on Hot 97 titled "New at 2" in which he played the hottest songs from 2:00 pm until 22:30 pm. He hosted Hip-Hop Nation's afternoon show on Sirius XM Radio from 5:00 to 10:00 EST on weekdays, and used to host the show on Power 105 from 2:00 to 6:00 on weekends. On the Monday of December 6th 2010 Angela Yee and Charlamagne tha God started hosting The Breakfast Club on Power 105. In September of 2016, he voiced support for stop-and-frisk, and then apologized for it after repeated criticism.DJ Envy has made appearances on Juelz Santana's and Lloyd Banks's music videos "Beamer Bentley or Benz" and on a variety of television shows, such as 106 & Park, Entourage, and Tha Corner which he hosts on the Music Choice channel. 5 He was featured in the 2006 film Blood of a Champion, credited as Shadow's enemy friend. Also, he was featured in The Raw Report of Gucci Mane. On March 21, 2010, DJ Envy took over as DJ on MTV2's Sucker Free Countdown.He recently released a new album entitled "Still A Fan" which features singer, songwriter, and producer "Rico Love." Many believe he may be planning an album or mixtape in the near future. The couple, along with their wife Gia Casey, host a podcast called "The Casey Crew" that talks about the good ugly, bad and beautiful aspects of relationships and family.
