An acting coach told Benz at the age of 15 that she was not going to succeed in her career as an actor. According to Benz, "I remember the teacher telling me that I should not even consider acting. I have the original report card in which she said something like, 'You will never become an actor. You
r voice is terrible.' This was the best thing I've done. "[7By 1989, her figure skating career over, Benz became involved in local theater, and was cast in the stage play Street Law. Her first film appearance was a brief speaking role in "The Black Cat" part of the Dario Argento/George A. Romero horror film Two Evil Eyes (1990). [8] One year later, she was cast as Hi Honey, My Home! (1991) which was pulled after just two seasons. Benz graduated from high school in 1990. She then moved to Los Angeles after graduating from NYU in 1993. The opportunity was given to her for a role in the television show Married... with Children in 1994. She was an actress playing a young girl who wants to leave her love for Bud Bundy. This role took place just two weeks following she moved. [7] Her subsequent roles included an unaired Aaron Spelling television pilot Crosstown Traffic. She also appeared in a unaired TV pilot called Empire in the year 1995. Hang Time, High Tide and Step by Step were her other TV programs. She also played a small part in The Barefoot Executive, a film for television. Her acting career was consistent and varied in the 1990s. She was uncredited in the film Black Sheep and her character as "Julie", top figure skater, allowed her to showcase her skating abilities in Diagnosis: Murder. Her later TV appearances included roles on Sliders, and The Single Guy. She was Christy in Hearts Adrift, and she played the lead role as Julie Falcon in Darkdrive.
