Lil' Kim

 Kimberly Denise Jones (born July 11th, 1974),[2] better known by her stage name Lil Kim is an American performer and reality TV reality TV. Her birthplace was in Brooklyn, New York City and was raised there. After being kicked out of her home, she spent much of her youth in the streets. As a teenager, Jones would freestyle rap, influenced by fellow female hip-hop artists like MC Lyte and the Lady of Rage. She was invited to join The Notorious B.I.G.'s Junior M.A.F.I.A. in 1994 by a fellow rapper. ; their debut album, Conspiracy, generated two top 20 singles in the United States and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).Lil Kim's debut studio album, Hard Core (1996) was double platinum certified, has since sold more than six million copies worldwide,[3] and spawned three successful singles: "No Time", "Not Tonight (Ladies Night)", and "Crush on You". The album was the first female-oriented rap album to debut in America in the year 1996. The next two albums, The Notorious K.I.M. Platinum certification was also granted to La Bella Mafia (2001) and Lil' Kim (2001). 2001 saw Lil' Kim climb to number one in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 with the single "Lady Marmalade" (a remake of LaBelle her 1974 single), alongside Mya, Pink, and Christina Aguilera. The Jump Off and Magic Stick were also notable singles during this time. The latter was ranked 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was her second highest-charting single alongside Mya, Pink, and Christina Aguilera. In 2005, Kim was sentenced to prison in 2005. Kim was sentenced to one year of prison for lying to a jury regarding her friends' involvement in a shooting four years prior. The album she released in her fourth studio album The Naked Truth was released during her imprisonment to favorable reviews from the press. A reality series that covered her sentence, Lil' Kim: Countdown to Lockdown, premiered on BET in 2006. Her debut mixtape, Ms. G.O.A.T. (2008), and returned to the public eye in 2009 with an appearance on Dancing with the Stars. In the decade that followed, she continued to release music and perform on a regular basis and collaborated with musicians like Faith Evans, Remy Ma, and Fabolous. The fifth studio album of her nine was released in 2019.Lil' Kim is often referred to as the "Queen of Rap", and her alias "Queen Bee" by several media outlets. The worldwide sales of her album include more than 15,000,000 albums and 30,000,000 singles. Complex's 50 Best Rap Songs by Women list included her songs "No Time", Big Momma Thang, as well as "Not Tonight (Ladies Night)." In 2012, Lil' Kim was listed as a VH1 presenter on the 100 Greatest Women in Music listing at the 45th spot the second spot for a female solo hip-hop artist. [6] Lil Kim has become a fashion icon due to of her bold and extravagant style of dressing. Her capacity to assist women "accept their sexuality and femininity" was something that has been highly praised by female artists. [9]
