Rob Dyrdek

 Dyrdek was just 11 years old when he was offered a sponsorship to represent Surf Ohio in Dayton, Ohio. He began competing at age 12. He started competing at the age of 12. In actual fact, Gordon and Smith Skateboard Company (G&S) who is a national brand that sponsors his team, began sponsoring his competition around the time of. Dyrdek was just 15 years old when he was the winner of the very first National Skateboard Association North Central District contest. He relocated to Southern California at the age 16 to pursue a professional career in skating. In the year 1991, he was made an elite skateboarder when he competed at the Skateboard World Cup in Germany. He finished fifth. Alien Workshop, a Dayton-based skateboarding business, began with the sponsorship of Dyrdek in the year 1991. After Dyrdek's endorsement Alien Workshop began making skateboards with the Dyrdek logo. Dyrdek was 25 years old. He also founded Orion Trucks, a skateboard accessory business. In 1995, Dyrdek had been competing in various events and performing at various exhibitions in North America, Europe and Asia. Dyrdek was sponsored by Droors Clothing (later known as DC Shoes). In 1995, Dyrdek released his first shoe that was his signature known as the RD 1, with DC. The RD 1 was the beginning of the 20-year relationship which would eventually include 29 signature shoes. Dyrdek made his debut in the business world in 1999, when he established Dyrdek Enterprises. Dyrdek was the sixth-ranked skater during the 2000 X Games in San Francisco. In 1996, he established Silver Trucks in 2003. The company that makes skateboarding equipment was his first business venture. In 2005 Dyrdek designed, constructed and raised funds for the Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Park. The plaza was designed to incorporate urban artifacts, like ledges, railings and planters to highlight street skateboarding features. It was the first park to receive funding from the Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Park Foundation.
