Lil Wayne

 Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. (born on September 27, 1982) is known as Lil Wayne, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record executive. His career began in 1995 at 12 years old, when he was signed by rapper Birdman who then joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label. Since then, Wayne was the flagship artist for Cash Money Records before ending his contract with the company in June 2018. The rapper is regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his time by XXL, he has often been named as one of the most influential rappers ever of his time.In 1995, Wayne was put in an album with labelmate B.G. They recorded True Story in 1995, that was released by B.G. (at the time, Lil Doogie). Wayne was, at that time, was known as Baby D. [8] Wayne, B.G. Then, B.G. and Wayne B.G. were part of the south hip-hop group Hot Boys with Cash Money label-mates Juvenile & Turk in the year 1997. The album sold more than 1 million copies within the first week. The album that he released, Tha Carter III (2008) won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. It featured the top singles "A Milli", T-Pain's "Got Money" and "Lollipop" featuring Static Major. Wayne's seventh studio album, Rebirth was released in February of 2010. The album was a fusion of the rap genre and received generally negative reviews. After being convicted in July 2007 of possession for criminal purposes, Lil Wayne was sentenced to an eight-month imprisonment in New York. His eighth studio album I Am Not a Human Being (2010) was released during his incarceration, while his 2011 album Tha Carter IV was released after his release. The album's debut week in America, Tha Carter IV sold 964,00 copies. After multiple delays, his twelfth studio album Tha Carter V came out in the year 2018. Wayne's 13th album, Funeral, was released in early 2020.Lil Wayne has sold over 120 million records worldwide, including more than 20 million albums and 70 million digital tracks in the United States, making him one of the top-selling music artists. He has won five Grammy Awards, 11 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards and eight NAACP Image Awards. In September 2012, he became the first male musician to surpass Elvis Presley with the most entries in the Billboard Hot 100, with 109 songs. [14][1515 Lil Wayne is currently the chief executive officer (CEO), of Young Money Entertainment.
