He also took home the UEFA European Championship. Ronaldo holds the records for the most appearances (183), goals (140) and assists (42) in the Champions League, goals in the European Championship (14), international goals (117) as well as international appearances made by the European (191). He is one of the few players to have more than 1,100 professional appearances in a career, and has scored over 800 official career senior goals for both country and club. Ronaldo began his senior career with Sporting CP, before signing with Manchester United in 2003, at age 18, winning the FA Cup in his first season. He would also go on to win three consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup; at the age of 23, he took home his first Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo was the subject of the then-most expensive association football transfer when he signed for Real Madrid in 2009 in an agreement worth EUR94 million (PS80 million), where he won 15 trophies that included two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, and four Champions Leagues, and became the club's most prolific goal scorer. In 2013, 2014 and 2017 he was awarded back-to-back Ballons d'Or. He was also the runner-up in both 2017 and 2017. He joined Juventus in the year 2018 at EUR100 million (PS88million), which was the most expensive transfer price for an Italian club and a player who was over 30 years old. He won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana trophies and a Coppa Italia trophy before returning to Manchester United in 2021. He quit in 2022.Ronaldo made his debut international in Portugal in 2003, aged 18. He has earned over 190 caps, making Portugal's most capped player. He is the nation's top goal scorer, scoring more than 100 international goals. Ronaldo has been a part of and scored at 11 of the biggest tournaments. The first time he scored a goal for Portugal was during Euro 2004, where Portugal made it to the final. In the summer of 2008, he assumed the captaincy of Portugal's national team. The Portuguese Football Federation named Ronaldo the top Portuguese player ever in 2015. Ronaldo was the one to lead Portugal to their first major tournament title at Euro 2016 and was awarded the Silver Boot for being the tournament's second highest goalscorer. He was also the team's winner in the 2019 UEFA Nations League, where he won the top scorer award as well as the Golden Boot for top scorer at Euro 2020.
