Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair `bd l`zyz lGryr (born 1 July 1954) is an Emirati billionaire businessman He is chairman of Mashreq and is a director for the Abdullah Al Ghurair Group of Companies, one of the biggest business organizations in the Middle East, with operations spanning more than 20 countries and roots that go back to a half century. Forbes estimated that Al Ghurair's net worth is US$4.8 billion. This makes him the richest person of 420th place on the planet. Al Ghurair was an industrial engineer, and received an honors degree at California Polytechnic State University. In 1977 the year he was a part of Mashreq. He was employed in various capacities until 1988, when he assumed responsibility for the bank's international operations, setting up branches in New York, the United States, London--UK, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, India and Pakistan. In 1989, he was appointed Executive Director and was promoted to CEO in the same year.
