Ryan Rodney Reynolds, born on the 23rd of October, 1976 in Toronto, is an American and Canadian actor. His acting career began with the Canadian soap opera for teenagers Hillside (1991-1993). Reynolds played minor roles before getting his first lead role in Two Guys and a Girl in 1998. Reynolds starred in many films including Waiting...(2005), The Proposal (2008), and National Lampoon’s Van Wilder (2002-2003). He also starred in the dramatic roles of Buried (2010), Woman in Gold (2015), and Life (2017) and was a part of action films such as Blade: Trinity (2004), Green Lantern (2011), 6 Underground (2019) and Free Guy (2021), and provided voice acting in the animated films The Croods film series (2013-2020), Turbo (2013), and Pokemon: Detective Pikachu (2019).Reynolds's most commercial success came with his participation in the 20th Century Fox X-Men films Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), in which he played the lead character. He set numerous records for R-rated comedy in the year when the film was released and received nominations for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. In 2010, the film was named People's Sexiest Men Alive and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017. As businessman, he owns an ownership stake in Mint Mobile and is a co-owner of Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C. The latter was covered in the TV show Welcome to Wrexham.
