 The Island Boys have been involved in numerous social media battles which involved other social media celebrities like brothers Logan Paul and Jake Paul, TikTok star Bryce Hall as well as mainstream celebrities such as comedian Kevin Hart and rapper Snoop Dogg Hart and Snoop Dogg notably mocked the twins in their comedy special "2021 and Done. Hart as well as Snoop Dogg reviewed a selection of viral videos from the previous year. On January 5, 2022 the twins made a commissioned video using Cameo, a platform that allows celebrities to pay to make customized videos for fans.The video was shared on TikTok by an army recruiter based in Texas, named Orlando Tamez, and shows the brothers saying "Big shoutout to Staff Sergeant Tamez You're making a difference in people's lives, giving the world $50K...Giving the bonuses? Paid vacation? and free college with no cash. "[2] The video was republished on the site Reddit in a subreddit titled"r/Army. The video created controversy and led to a representative for the US Army Recruiting Command making the following statement to NBC: "The Island Boys Cameo was not reviewed, authorized or paid for by the US Army Recruiting Command as an official tool for marketing. We are investigating the matter and requiring the individual recruiter to remove the TikTok account, as it's not approved for official use at the present time.On February 7th 2022, the Venegas brothers' house in Florida was raided by police. A man identified as Andrew James Thomas, a former acquaintance of the Venegas brothers, was taken into custody on the property in connection with an incident that resulted in the death of an 8-year-old girl three days prior to the shooting. [2] The Venegas brothers aren't involved in the case, and their manager Dovi Bezner has told the media that their former friend had been staying in their home .
