Williams is the author 11 books on commodities and stocks. The Mount Sinai Myth is another book that Williams wrote. The book was inspired by an archeological hunt for Mount Sinai in Egypt. Howard Blum rewrote this book and it was featured in Vanity Fair. Confessions of the Radical Protestor outlines his struggle against the Internal Revenue Service that led to three tax-evasion charges. On February 5, 2010, those charges were dropped and he pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor charges of failing to file income tax returns on time (for tax years 1999, 2000, and 2001).Williams has created numerous market indicators, including Williams %R, Ultimate Oscillator, COT indices, accumulation/distribution indicators, cycle forecasts, market sentiment, and value measurements for commodity prices. Williams won the 1987 World Cup Championship of Futures Trading from the Robbins Trading Company, where he turned $10,000 to over $1,000,000 (11,300%) during a twelve-month contest with actual money. A decade later, his daughter, actress Michelle Williams, won the same contest. Jason Williams, Williams' son and psychiatrist who wrote a book about the character of successful traders, titled The Mental Edge in Trading. Larry Williams recorded four videos in November 2014 at Traders Expo Las Vegas. He talked about his more than 50 years of trading. He appeared on the podcast Planet Money's economics in 2018 to talk about his tax protest, extradition and trial.
