Megan Thee Stallion

 Megan Jovon Ruth Pete (born February 15, 1995) is professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion (pronounced "Megan the Stallion "),[1][2] ) is an American rapper. Originating from Houston, Texas, she began to gain attention after videos featuring her freestyling became well-known on social media sites like Instagram. Megan Thee Stallion was signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018. She released the mixtape Fever (1999) as well as the extended play Suga (2020) that both made it to the top ten on the Billboard 200. Her debut studio album Good News (2020), to great critical acclaim. With her remix of "Savage" which she featured with Beyonce, and her appearance on Cardi B's "WAP" single and her debut and second number one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100. This was also her first number 1 in other countries as well as the Billboard Global 200 charts. Doja Cat was also featured on Doja Cat's remix of Ariana Grande's single "34+35" in 2021. The song reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was followed by her debut compilation album, Something For Thee Hotties (2021), which climbed to the top ten spots of the Billboard 200 and produced the single "Thot Shit" in which she was awarded a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Performance. Megan Thee Stallion was also the victim in July of 2020 of a shooting at Hollywood Hills by Tory Lanez. Good News, her debut album, had the shooting as a key element. The album was released in December 2022. Lanez was convicted and tried found guilty on all counts regarding the assault on her.Throughout her career, Megan Thee Stallion has been awarded numerous awards which include six BET Awards, five BET Hip Award and four American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, an Billboard Women in Music Award, and three Grammy Awards. In the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, she became the second female rapper to be awarded the title of Best New Artist, after Lauryn Hill in 1999. In the year 2020 Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world on their annual list. Outside of her musical career she has been focusing on her education, graduating from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration in 2021.
